In 1998, a Quality Management System was implemented in HUTMEN SA, in compliance with the ISO 9002:1996 standard, and certified by two independent certifying units: The Polish Register of Shipping and RW TÜV.

The Quality Management System comprises main processes running in HUTMEN SA that significantly affect the final effect, which is to provide the Customer with a satisfying product. Care for quality has its origin in the phase when production plans come into existence, through the purchase of raw materials necessary for production, optimum maintenance of machines and devices, which includes the purchase of materials and services for repair, investment and operation needs, to finish with the phase of production and production control. The System offers our Customers security and a guarantee that their requirements will be met, improves our Company's credibility and, in consequence, consolidates the competitive position of HUTMEN SA.

After the Quality Management System was adjusted to the requirements of the new process standard, since the year 2003 HUTMEN SA has been using the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2000.

Since January 2004, as a result of the system re-certification with respect to quality and after the certifying audit, the Environment Management System in accordance with ISO 14001:1996 has been in operation in the Company.

Implementation of the Environment Management System is a consequence of the environmental policy cultivated in HUTMEN SA The Company undertook a number of activities aimed at reducing its detrimental effect on the natural environment. The fact that HUTMEN SA has been deleted from the "List of 80 greatest pollutants" is a tangible effect thereof.
The Company has for years been running an investment program whose aim is to systematically reduce the emission of gases and dusts to the atmosphere, which decreases its detrimental effect on the environment. A new, ecological image of HUTMEN SA is gradually becoming reality.

So, nowadays, the Environment and Quality Management System exists in HUTMEN S.A., its effectiveness confirmed by an integrated Certificate of the Polish Register of Shipping for compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards as well as a TÜV NORD Certificate for compliance with ISO 9001 standard.

The Company's most important objectives with respect to quality and environmental protection have been included in the Quality Policy and the Environmental Policy.
